Welcome to this demonstration version of CriticaLink, a web-based resource designed to encourage students to explore the territory shared by literary criticism, literary theory, and philosophy. CriticaLink provides

This demo version includes five of the Reading Guides:

Aristotle's Poetics

Freud's "On Narcissism: An Introduction"

Martin Heidegger's "The Question Concerning Technology"

Lacan's "The Mirror Stage"

Spivak's "Echo"

and one example of the critical exercises in Explication & Interpretation, a selection from Ovid's Metamorphoses.

The developer of this site is John Zuern, an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa and the co-director, with Alison Regan, of the Center for English Studies Technology. The CriticaLink project got underway in March 1998 and is still in the beginning stages of development. Some sections of the site are incomplete, but this demonstration version should offer a sense of the basic features of CriticaLink.
