How many appointments can I make in a week?
A client may have up to one hour in the Writing Center per week (either in one hour-long session, or in two half-hour sessions). Appointments are limited so that other members of the UH community will have the opportunity to use the Writing Center services.

Do tutors proofread papers?
Our goal is to equip you with appropriate writing skills so that you can become a better and more confident writer. We are here to share with you different techniques and methods for you to learn how to proofread or edit on your own.
What must I bring for a tutorial?
1. Your UH ID.
2. Your assignment sheet / prompt (if given one).
3. You are strongly encouraged to bring TWO double-spaced printed copies of your written assignment or draft (if you have written it).
If you are at the pre-writing stage, we encourage you to bring any research, resources, or ideas you may have gathered so far.
Kindly keep in mind:
- If you must cancel, please do so AT LEAST ONE HOUR IN ADVANCE or you will be considered a “no show.”
- If you are more than 10 MINUTES LATE, you may be considered a “no show.”
- Clients who fail to show up twice in a semester will not be allowed to use the Writing Center’s services for the rest of that semester.
