The Writing Workshop

• provides one-on-one assistance with writing.
• is open to all members of the UH community, free of charge.
• is staffed by students from the Department of English and the Department of Second Language Studies.

To make an appointment:

1. Sign up in Kuy 402 for one or two back-to-back half-hour sessions per week.
2. Make the appointment well in advance of your deadline.
3. Bring your assignment sheet to your session.
4. Come prepared with specific questions and goals.
5. Remember that this is a teaching/helping service, not a place to get your paper proofread.

Keep in mind:

1. If you fail to show up twice, you will not be permitted to use our services for the rest of the semester.
2. Cancellations less than 24 hours before your sessions are considered no-shows.
3. If you are more than ten minutes late, your tutor may be assigned to another client.

The Writing Workshop is closed during the summer.
