Are you looking for a creative community of undergraduate
writers, readers and thinkers? Then The LitWits is the group for you!
We welcome English majors, minors and all others who love to read,
write, and think--our goal is to connect people. We sponsor fun, non-threatening
open mike readings for undergraduates, we intend to start an on-line
e-zine for undergraduate UH students to "publish" their
writing and perhaps a newsletter as well. We can help you find a writing
circle or a reading circle. If you are looking for peer editing or
career advice (what can you do with an English major?), we can help
with that too. If you are looking for fun activities with other people
who love the written and spoken word, look no further--The LitWits
is for you. But we need your help--none of this can happen without
your active participation. C'mon, be a Lit Wit!
The LitWits is a registered University
organization with a faculty advisor, but it does not receive financial
assistance from the English Department. Thus there is a modest membership
fee to help defray the costs of refreshments, supplies, and prizes
given at LW-sponsored readings.
Join us--we want to foster your
creativity and have fun doing so! Contact us at uhmeng@hawaii.edu
or leave a note for us in the English Department office, Kuykendall
402.
