I was born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and received my undergraduate degree from LaSalle College and my Ph.D. from Stanford University. I came to the University of Hawaii in 1990 and have been a member of the English Department since. I teach a wide variety of courses from introductory courses in writing, literature, and theory to specialized courses in Gothic and Romanticism, and at all levels of our curriculum.
