CAROLINE SINAVAIANA was born in Born in Utulei village, Tutuila, Samoa. Her poetry and scholarship have appeared in national and international journals. Her book of poetry, Alchemies of Distance came out this year. Current projects include co-editing a mixed-genre collection of indigenous writing by Pacific women, and a new collection of poetry and essays, Nuclear Medicine, exploring some of the metaphysical landscape(s) of breast cancer, "illness" and healing.
