Ian MacMillian, a resident of Hawai`i for thirty-two years, is author of two new books set in Hawai`i: a collection of short stories, Exiles in Time, published last April by Anoai Press; and a novel, The Red Wind, to be published this September by Mutual. Among his other books are the short story collection Light and Power, winner of the Associated Writing Programs award; and Orbit of Darkness. His work has appeared in such journals as Paris Review and in such prize anthologies as the O. Henry, Puschcart, and Best American Short Stories. In 1992 Governer John Waihe`e presented him with the 1992 Hawai`i Award for literature. He is fiction editor of Manoa: A Pacific Journal of International Writing.
