On-Campus Dormitory Accommodations

Some rooms are now available from University of Hawai‘i Conference Housing and East-West Center Housing. These dormitory rooms will cost approximately $50 dollars a night. The rooms contain one or two single beds; washrooms are shared on each hallway. This is the rate for the room (each room has two single beds).

We are contacting now those conference participants who have already expressed interest in this housing option. If you are interested, please write Maile Gresham immediately at iaba2008@hawaii.edu.

We have also determined that even if you are arriving in the later evening, you can still check in to on-campus roomswe would just have to know ahead of time, so we could arrange for your arrival.

In the event we are not able to offer as many on-campus rooms as there is demand, the Ala Moana Hotel is reserving rooms to ensure there will be space for anyone who needs it. Sharing a room there is also an option.

Other Hotel Accommodation in Honolulu

For people interested in other accommodations, there is a myriad of hotels available in Honolulu, and most are easily searched online. Please remember, however, that you will also need to make transportation arrangements to the university. One hotel we recommend is the Pagoda Hotel, which is within walking distance from the Ala Moana Hotel--that way participants could still take the provided transportation to and from the University at the Ala Moana. The Pagoda quoted us rooms starting at $101 US for out-of-state reservations; it is located at 1525 Rycroft Street, and the phone number is (808) 941-6611. It is also on the Web, at www.pagodahotel.com.

Note: Please be sure that you are reserving at the Pagoda on Rycroft, as there are two other locations.
